About the email you received
You did not ask us to write. Here is the honest version.
Nobody enjoys an email they did not sign up for, and a page that admits that is worth more to you than one that pretends the message was a newsletter you forgot about. So: what it was, how we got your address, and how to end it.
Who we are
Camp Connection Inc — the company behind The One App, software that camps and retreat centers use to run their bookings, registrations, billing, kitchen, housekeeping, store and donors in a single system. We are a small American company founded by people who worked in Christian camping, and real camps use the product every day. The product itself is at theoneapp.camp, and our phone number is (833) 409-0033 if you would rather just ask a human.
Camp Connection Inc, 500 N. Rainbow Blvd. Ste. 300 A, Las Vegas, NV 89107, USA — the same address at the bottom of the message you received. If those two do not match, the message was not ours.
Why the email came from this domain and not from theoneapp.camp
Because our clients' mail matters more than our sales mail. Camps that run on The One App receive booking confirmations, receipts and password resets from theoneapp.camp, and those have to reach an inbox every time. Sales email to people who have not heard of us carries a risk that mail does not. Keeping the two on separate domains means a complaint about us cannot land on a camp waiting for a receipt.
So oneappcamp.com and theoneapp.net are ours, they are registered to us, and they exist for exactly this. If that sounds like something a spammer would also say, the difference is checkable: both publish full email authentication with a DMARC policy of reject, both carry a real site with our real company on it, and the phone number above is answered by us.
Where we got your address
From business sources, and we will tell you precisely which one if you ask. In practice it is one of these:
- Your camp's own website — the staff page, the contact page, or the address on a rental inquiry form.
- A public industry directory or a camping association listing.
- A conference or trade-show attendee list.
- A conversation you or a colleague already had with us, sometimes a while ago.
- Somebody at another camp who told us we should talk to you.
We did not buy a consumer list, and we did not take anything from a personal social account. The address we wrote to is a work address at a camp, which is the only kind of address on this list.
What we hold, and what we do not
We hold a business contact record: your name, your work email, your role if we know it, your camp and its public contact details — plus the record of our own correspondence with you. That is the whole file.
We hold nothing about the families who come to your camp. No guest records, no children's information, no medical forms, no payment details. That information belongs to the camps that collect it, it is none of our business, and it has nothing to do with why we wrote.
We do not sell contact information, we are not paid by anyone for it, and we do not pass it to an agency.
How to make it stop — one line, and it holds
Any of these works, and none of them requires an account or an explanation:
- Reply to the message and say stop. A person reads it.
- Email support@theoneapp.camp.
- Call (833) 409-0033 and tell whoever answers.
We keep one suppression list across every address and every domain we send from, so asking once covers oneappcamp.com, theoneapp.net and theoneapp.camp together, now and for any future list. You will get one short confirmation and then nothing. If you ever get another message after that, it is a mistake and we want to know about it — the number above is the fastest way to tell us.
And if you are a little interested
Then reply to the email, or pick a time below. A tour is half an hour, we load your own camp's data in beforehand so you are looking at your groups rather than a demo camp, and you get fourteen days with it. No contract, no card, and if it is not right for you we will say so on the call.
